Until recently, Supporting People Gloucestershire was a service which played an integral part in the lives of the majority of elderly people who live on our Church Way and Archway Court schemes. They supplied funding, in part, for the Community Support Worker, linkline services and administration costs.
This model of provision has now changed. A new HomePLUS service, provided by Two Rivers Housing is available for older and more vulnerable tenants at our Newent scheme. A dedicated team of Neighbourhood Assistants provide the service with the aim of keeping elderly residents safe and to enable them to retain independence in their own homes.
The Neighbourhood Assistants will keep in close touch with residents working flexibly around individual needs and varying the assistance and advice given accordingly.
Archway Court has a dispersed alarm system in individual properties, which provides those residents with twenty four hour cover. The system is managed for us by Herefordshire Council.
We aim to review the provision of these services each year to ensure they still meet the needs and expectations of residents. If you would like any information about the service and what it does and doesn’t do, please contact our office and speak to Sue Jackson.
