The Leasing Scheme
In addition to owning and managing our own stock, we also manage properties for others.
Assuming a property is suitable in terms of condition,location and agreed rental, the Association will enter into a a minimum 4 year lease with the owner to manage the property on his or her behalf. The property will be let in the usual way to an applicant on the Common Housing Register on an assured shorthold tenancy.
Although the property must be let at a rental below the market level, the owner is guaranteed the rental for the period of the lease and this payment is index linked to keep pace with inflation.
